How did it feel to be taking part with Text Santa?

I was thrilled to be asked to do something for Text Santa. I think it is a great initiative at a time of year when we should all be thinking about giving.

How did it feel to be filming on Coronation Street?

Coronation Street is an iconic part of British popular culture and I feel honoured to have been asked to be a part of the Text Santa special episode.

What was the atmosphere like and meeting some of the Corrie cast?

The cast of Corrie' are such talented actors and it was a privilege to work with them. I really enjoyed the work environment and work ethic they have established there. It's a very friendly, productive place to be.

How many times have you played Santa before?

This was my first Santa'. I can't say it was an ambition as I never thought of myself playing the big fella himself I see myself as more of an elf. It got me thinking though if I am Santa, how big would my elves be?

Do you have any personal connection to any of the Text Santa charities and why do you think its important to donate to Text Santa? (Teenage Cancer Trust, Guide Dogs, Wellchild, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Alzheimers Society, and Together For Short Lives).

Text Santa is connected to a diverse range of different charities. By donating, you can help so many people in so many ways.

Mel B hits the Corrie cobbles

This Friday sees a fabulous Coronation Street cameo in the form of Melanie B, all in aid of Text Santa.

Mels character is the Chief Operational Head of Christmas management services. In these first look photos it seems Mary has found the unexpected visitor at her mobile home...

Another surprise for Downton

The perfectly posh Joanna Lumley has joined the all star line up including Hollywood gent George Clooney and ITVs very own Mr Selfridge (Jeremy Piven).

Joanna Lumley: "I was sitting in the make-up truck having my hair done: and everyone was hissing and squeaking with anticipation of the Great Clooney being on set. Suddenly, over my shoulder in the mirror, appeared that fabulously familiar and beauteous face of George.

He leaned over and we looked at each other in reflection I never wear make-up, he said with a grin, smoothing back his thick hair and twinkling his eyes. I immediately became completely Mills and Boon: and though I think I was pretty cool, ( Hi!! George ! Im Joanna!), as soon as he went out we all screamed like schoolgirls OMG !! OMG!!!!

He was charming in a way you only find in fairy stories: he did photographs and selfies with every single person, he knew his lines and made them golden. When he kissed all the way up Dame Maggies arm, and she fell off the sofa onto the floor, we knew that paradise was there on earth, that day, at Downton Abbey."

Phillip takes on The Shard

On 8 December Phillip Schofield tackled something terrifying; taking on The Shard the tallest building in Western Europe.

After leaving The View from The Shard, he went beyond the public viewing gallery and climbed up the inside of the spire. The top of the spire is over 1,000 feet high, so high in fact that it's officially in civil aviation airspace.

You're only born with two fears, you're born with a fear of loud noises and you're born with a fear of falling ..I'm not frightened of heights but every fibre of my being was saying don't let go, don't let go. I could feel it in my stomach, my heart was beating but I just had to let go. I had to do it, I had to see what it felt like to stand there on a narrow beam and let go. And that's the most alarming feeling ever..it's primal. Something deep with in you saying this is a really bad idea
