Born the Quirino awards of the American animation La primera edici n de estos galardones tendr lugar en Tenerife (Espa a) durante el primer semestre de 2018 y contar con el patrocinio principal de Turismo de Tenerife.
Esta ma ana y dentro del especial destinado a las Islas Canarias en el Festival Internacional de Animaci n de Annecy Canary Islands: The Next Hotspot for Animation? se ha dado a conocer una de las principales novedades que aguarda la isla de Tenerife para el pr ximo a o: la celebraci n de la primera edici n de los Premios Quirino de la Animaci n Iberoamericana.
Los trofeos se han nombrado en honor al creador del primer largometraje de animaci n de la historia. En 1917 Quirino Cristiani dirigi El Ap stol, una producci n argentina en donde se utilizaron 58.000 dibujos en 35 mm adem s de varias maquetas que representaban edificios p blicos y las calles de la ciudad de Buenos Aires. De su trabajo se hizo eco incluso el gigante Disney, que viaj a Argentina en 1941 con el motivo del estreno de Fantas a. Es por esto que los Premios Quirino rinden homenaje al talento y la creatividad iberoamericana.
Los principales objetivos de estos premios son: poner en valor el talento y la industria de la animaci n iberoamericana; generar lazos y redes entre ambos lados del oc ano; construir un mercado iberoamericano de la animaci n donde circulen las obras audiovisuales; premiar la animaci n en todos sus formatos, largometrajes, cortos, piezas de escuela, series, series on line, etc; y generar un foro de coproducci n iberoamericano en paralelo a los premios.
El evento reunir por tanto la floreciente industria latinoamericana junto con la de Portugal, Andorra y Espa a creando un puente entre ambos continentes y construyendo un verdadero hermanamiento para desarrollar juntos el gran mercado que es Iberoam rica.
Los Premios Quirino cuentan con el patrocinio principal de Turismo de Tenerife y la colaboraci n de algunos de los principales eventos internacionales de animaci n que se celebran en el panorama iberoamericano como son El Festival de Animaci n, Videojuegos y C mics de Cuernavaca (M xico); 3D Wire, Mercado Internacional de Animaci n, Videojuegos y New Media (Segovia, Espa a); y otros muchos profesionales de la animaci n iberoamericana.
