ABT Schaeffler FE01 bereit f r den Saisonstart der Formel E
Die Formel E steuert auf ihre zweite Saison zu: Heute und morgen finden in Donington (GB) die letzten Testfahrten statt, bevor die rein elektrisch angetriebenen Formelautos verladen und in Richtung Peking (CN) transportiert werden. Wenn im Herzen der chinesischen Hauptstadt am 17. Oktober die Startampel das Rennen frei gibt, beginnt f r Schaeffler eine neue ra im Motorsport: Das Unternehmen hat als exklusiver Technologiepartner des Teams ABT Sportsline den Antriebsstrang des neuen ABT Schaeffler FE01 entwickelt.
Starteten in der Premierensaison der Formel E noch alle Teams mit Einheitsautos, so ist in der Saison 2015/2016 der komplette Antriebsstrang freigegeben. Herzst ck ist der Elektromotor, der den Namen ABT Schaeffler MGU 01 tr gt. Der Schwerpunkt lag hierbei auf einer bestm glichen Effizienz, hoher Zuverl ssigkeit und optimaler Thermik dank ver nderter K hlung. Unser Motor hat ein besseres Drehmoment und einen besseren Wirkungsgrad als der Vorg nger , sagt Prof. Peter Gutzmer, der die Entwicklungen als Technologie-Vorstand bei Schaeffler verantwortet und einen engen Zeitplan vorfand: Die ersten Gespr che fanden vor etwa zehn Monaten statt, bereits ein halbes Jahr sp ter waren die ersten Teile gefertigt. Das Timing ist eng, wie immer im Motorsport, aber wir sind im Plan.
Schaeffler entwickelte auch ein neues, zum Motor passendes Getriebe, das von dem renommierten Partner Hewland nach speziellen Vorgaben gefertigt wurde. Es ist steifer und kompakter. Um das Ziel von m glichst wenigen Schaltvorg ngen pro Runde zu erreichen, entschieden die Ingenieure sich f r eine Variante mit drei G ngen. Optimiert wurde auch das Fahrwerk, das eine h here Steifigkeit sowie eine verbesserte Kinematik aufweist. Bindeglied zwischen allen Elementen ist die neu entwickelte Software, die f r das Zusammenspiel aller Komponenten verantwortlich ist. Ihre Funktionalit t zu perfektionieren, war ein Schwerpunkt der Testfahrten.
F r uns war von Anfang an klar, dass wir keine halben Sachen machen. Deshalb sind wir alle Bereiche, die durch das Reglement freigegeben sind, auch angegangen und haben gemeinsam mit unseren Partnern eigene, optimierte L sungen entwickelt , sagt Prof. Peter Gutzmer. Ein Anspruch, den Schaeffler auch au erhalb des Motorsports hat. Gutzmer: Die gesamte Elektromobilit t, dazu geh ren Hybrid-L sungen, aber auch das elektrische Fahren, wird ganz wesentlich die Mobilit t der Zukunft bestimmen. Um hier vorn zu sein, ist das Engagement in der Formel E ideal und steht als Vorbild: Unsere Ingenieure sollen an Grenzen gehen und den Wettbewerb suchen - in der Serie genau wie im Motorsport.
Schaeffler war bereits von der ersten Stunde der Formel E an als Partner des einzigen deutschen Teams involviert und macht jetzt den n chsten Schritt. Die Zusammenarbeit mit ABT Sportsline funktioniert hervorragend. Das Team hat sich in der ersten Saison gefunden, arbeitet professionell und erfolgsorientiert und ist der perfekte Botschafter f r unser Leitbild Mobilit t f r morgen , sagt Gutzmer.
Auch bei den Fahrern setzt die Mannschaft, die offiziell unter dem Namen ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport genannt ist, auf Kontinuit t: In den beiden Elektro-Boliden, die den Namen ABT Schaeffler FE01 tragen, werden erneut Daniel Abt (22) und Lucas di Grassi (31) sitzen, die in der ersten Saison den dritten Platz in der Teamwertung erreicht hatten. Lucas di Grassi k mpfte bis zum letzten der elf Rennen um den Fahrertitel. Kein anderer Pilot stand im Laufe der Saison so oft auf dem Podium wie der S damerikaner in den Schaeffler-Farben.
Nach dem Auftakt in Asien geht die Formel E auf eine Welttournee durch S d- und Nordamerika und Europa. Neu im Kalender ist das Gastspiel im Herzen von Frankreichs Hauptstadt Paris, das Heimspiel aus Sicht von Schaeffler wird am 21. Mai in Berlin ausgetragen. Zum Finale treffen sich die 20 Piloten am ersten Juli-Wochenende in London (GB).
