Think Master Control, Think Rascular

Today's playout operations use specialised equipment from a variety of broadcast manufacturers. Operations staff are used to automated control of these devices. But manual control is also essential and that's a different challenge. Operators are forced to use multiple control surfaces making manual control almost impossible, unless equipment is from a single manufacturer.

Rascular puts control back in the hands of the operator. Facilities are able to design and deploy control panels to fulfil a variety of operational requirements across equipment from a range of manufacturers. Across a myriad of applications - from channel branding to single and multichannel master control as well as time of day router switching third-party equipment can be manually controlled with a flexibility and precision that ensures a premium quality viewer experience.

Rascular partnership with Harmonic

Rascular will be highlighting its evolving partnership with Harmonic, particularly the use of Helm to control the Harmonic Spectrum media server and Spectrum ChannelPort integrated channel playout systems. This relationship has continued to grow since NAB 2015, with US sales successes backed up by ongoing technical advances. The latest integration developments will be on show.

RouteMaster provides Barnfind control

RouteMaster is now able to provide complete control of routers across the Barnfind range. Barnfind has quickly become known for its signal-neutral platform that offers many functions and supports numerous different signal formats in one frame. It allows people to think differently in today's multi-format world. RouteMaster is Rascular's powerful and flexible PC-based router control system that provides a unique real world flexibility and usability. Built on tried and tested software modules, it can be used with a wide range of video and audio routers past, present and future from all the major manufacturers. Deploying RouteMaster, users can control an existing router installation from any web browser via computer, tablet and even mobile phone using Rascular's web panels.

Blackmagic Design control panel integration with RouteMaster

RouteMaster has been integrated with Blackmagic's cost-effective hardware router control panels, allowing users of the control panels to control not only Blackmagic routers but any router that RouteMaster can control. This, of course, includes Barnfind. RouteMaster sits between the hardware control panels and the router(s). This provides tremendous flexibility for users who can chose the same, familiar hardware interface to control routers from multiple manufacturers.
