
Vionlabs announces that it is continuing its rapid growth with the appointment of Kevin Odden to lead its commercial operations in the Americas. The company is also expanding its advisory board with the appointments of Anette Schaefer and Hanno Basse.
Vionlabs' platform provides a step-change in content discovery. Its AI-powered Content Discovery Platform creates a unique fingerprint for each piece of video content, formed from its own first party and leading third party data. Vionlabs' data is formed in part by a ground-breaking system that maps emotional intelligence information between content assets, whether current or catalog, and even individual scenes.
The technology allows operators to reduce the time consumers spend searching for content, reduce churn and improve key business metrics. It also provides operators with the power to discover new relevance in catalog content that a consumer would often overlook. The platform made its public debut at the IBC2019 show where it earned a TVB Europe Best of Show award and plaudits from industry commentators.
Kevin joins the team as President of Americas Sales. He is a specialist in digital media and emerging markets and brings over eight years' experience at the forefront of streamed content delivery in the Americas, having previously led commercial activity for major CDN provider Limelight Networks.
Anette is one of the leading industry advisors to telecom and media companies in Europe and founded BIG Picture, which has provided industry analysis and research since 2009. She previously led Deutsche Telekom's TV business, which ran across 13 countries and boasted 5m subscribers.
Hanno boasts a wealth of experience in tech with some of the biggest names in broadcasting across Europe and the US, including ProSiebenSat.1 Media in Germany, and DIRECTV and 20th Century Fox Film Corp. in the US. He is currently President, Decentralized Media Infrastructure at Live Planet, the leading next-gen video app developer.
