ELEMENTS NAS media storage and server to transmit video streams from South Korea to Austrian broadcast station 14th February 2018

Dusseldorf, Germany, Feb 12, 2017: ELEMENTS, developer of advanced solutions for unrestricted collaboration in shared media workflows, has announced that its long-time customer Broadcast Network Connections (BNC) is deploying an ELEMENTS NAS 60bay plus JBOD expansion in PyeongChang to establish a steady connection for transmissions between onsite editing and producers in Vienna, Austria. BNC, a Berlin-based production company, has been contracted by Austria's public (service) broadcaster ORF for ingest and content management during the global sports event to ensure up-to-the-minute coverage. The raw video footage, provided by several Electronic Newsgathering (ENG) teams (XDCAM), will be streamed through EVS XT[3] servers to the ELEMENTS NAS server to be edited by a team of four editors onsite in South Korea, utilizing Adobe Premiere. While the editing suites are connected via 1GbE, the EVS servers utilize a 10GbE connection to ELEMENTS NAS. During the entire event the ELEMENTS NAS will be connected to the media server at ORF, enabling the producers in Vienna to provide additional content for download from the home-base to be included in the live-edit. The edited video content will be airing in local South Korea TV stations, and simultaneously be transmitted via Signiant/PCMS directly to the media server at ORF for airing in Austria.
