Nafiz Modack: CPT underworld boss' fake death story is utterly bonkers

Reports of Nafiz Modack's death have been greatly exaggerated. In fact, details of his body double's death are also wide of the mark. The notorious underworld figure of Cape Town has seemingly come back from the dead after a fake police report sparked confusion across the city.

The beginning of the twist A police incident report was submitted earlier on Tuesday. According to TimesLive, it stated that Modack had been gunned down while viewing cars at a Bellville motor auction. He was reported to have suffered injuries to his thigh before being shot in the head.

Around 10:50, the report was submitted to the police, who were told that three assailants had killed one victim in a hail of gunfire. However, there's a small problem with all this Nafiz Modack was still sending WhatsApp messages hours after his apparent murder. That's quite an achievement for anyone who has been recently pronounced dead.

Nafiz Modack lives to fight another day Of course, Modack hadn't been shot. He reached out to the media to let them know he was still in one piece, and even told the publication that any potential killers would need to get through 40 armed guards before they got to him. That's ballsy, you've got to admit.

The Western Cape Police Department confirmed to us that no shooting took place at the auction whatsoever. That leaves us with no dead body, no bullets fired and no potential suspects. The crime intelligence report filed earlier has simply proved to be a golden goose.

The last we heard from Nafiz Modack Murdered lawyer Pete Mihalik was set to defend Modack for his role in an extortion syndicate last year before Advocate Bruce Hendricks took the lead on the case. Mihalik had appeared in court with Modack, and their defence was to accuse officers involved with the case of being involved in corruption themselves.
