Prime Video and the WNBA Announce Multi-Year Rights Extension By SVG Staff

Prime Video and the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) announces a multi-year rights extension in which Prime Video will continue to be the exclusive national streaming partner of 21 WNBA games each season, including the Championship Game of the WNBA Commissioner's Cup presented by Coinbase. The 2023 WNBA Commissioner's Cup attracted the largest audience for a WNBA game ever for Prime Video, nearly doubling the viewership of the 2022 contest.
The return of the WNBA provides Prime members with even more premium sports content, as members enjoy savings, convenience, and entertainment, all in a single membership.
We're thrilled to continue bringing exclusive national coverage of the WNBA and highlighting these exceptional athletes to Prime members, says Charlie Neiman, Head of Sports Partnerships, Prime Video. Following a successful 2023 season, we're looking forward to reaching even more milestones with the WNBA and furthering our commitment to women's sports.
We are incredibly pleased that Prime Video is making a meaningful and continued commitment to the WNBA and will once again provide a great platform to showcase the world-class athletes of our league across the regular season and particularly with its streaming of the Championship Game of the new, streamlined Commissioner's Cup presented by Coinbase, says WNBA Chief Growth Officer Colie Edison.
Prime Video has exclusive global streaming rights (excluding China, Japan, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Finland, and Germany) to its schedule of 20 WNBA regular season games and the Championship Game of the Commissioner's Cup presented by Coinbase. These select games are in addition to Prime Video's continued live coverage of the Seattle Storm, with additional Storm games available exclusively to Prime members in Washington state.
The WNBA will be available on Prime Video across hundreds of compatible devices worldwide, streaming from the web, or using the Prime Video app on smartphones, tablets, set-top boxes, game consoles, and connected TVs. Prime Video games may also be distributed in the participating teams' markets through the teams' local distribution partners.
The full schedule of 2024 WNBA games on Prime Video will be announced as part of the upcoming release of the WNBA's entire broadcast and streaming release in the coming weeks.
